The author, Bill Clark, was a SNCC volunteer in Mississippi in 1964, the year of Freedom Summer. He is now a retired fishery biologist and sometime composer in Seattle. This is his first musical.

The arranger, Paul Linnes, also of Seattle, is a veteran opera singer, voice instructor, arranger, and music director. This is his umpteenth musical.

The singers in the recordings (in order of appearance) are Marlette Buchanan (Catherine), Garrett Dill (Ruffy), Paul Linnes (Edward), Be Russell (Katie), and Matthew Lang (Tommy).

The recordings were made in the sound studio of the Jack Straw Cultural Center in Seattle under the direction of Paul Linnes. The engineer was Moe Provencher.
